Melissa Dunseith, RMT and Reflexologist, has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist for 11 years and Certified Reflexologist for 18 years. She has a deep passion for treating her patients taking their whole health picture and body in mind, not simply the symptoms of the day to help address the root cause. She integrates reflexology with her extensive knowledge of massage therapy techniques to effectively treat patients’ conditions. Having these varied tools in her kit allows her to find flexibility and success in treating patients of all ages and states of health with musculoskeletal pain and tension. Other common conditions Melissa encounters include digestive issues, anxiety, sinus congestion, fertility/reproductive/hormonal struggles, pre and post natal conditions, headaches, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, insomnia, and improved energy levels/stress management. In her years as a manual practitioner, Melissa has experience treating amateur and professional athletes, terminally ill cancer and HIV-positive patients, children with tight and sore muscles from athletics, poor posture and stress, desk-worker discomforts, anxiety, front line workers suffering from burnout, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia sufferers, new parents, and of course people working from home or others experiencing stresses from pandemic life…all bodies are welcome on her table! Melissa graduated with Honours from Kikkawa College in 2011 and became a Certified Reflexologist through the Reflexology Association of Canada in 2004. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology and Psychology Minor from McMaster University (1999) and worked for a few years as a Kinesiologist in a Toronto physiotherapy clinic where she realized her desire to further expand her integrative healthcare skills. Melissa has completed all levels of study of Reiki (Kenya and Canada) earning the designation of Reiki Master. She is also an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor after completing two and a half years of study of Ayurvedic Medicine between the California College of Ayurveda and the Centre for Ayurveda and Indian Systems of Healing (CAISH) in Toronto. In the near future, she would like to continue her studies to help patients with cupping, acupuncture and psychotherapy for psycho-somatic work. Melissa is an avid Ultimate frisbee competitor, participating at the provincial and national levels in tournaments throughout North America and internationally including World Championship in Ireland this past July. She loves to run, play trivia with friends, walk her very active Aussie Shepherd, watch as many Toronto Raptors games as possible, enjoy live music, and travel the world!
Massage Therapy
An ideal length for a general full body treatment, or for great detailed work on half the body, a thorough assessment and home care program, and to fully decompress.
Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient treatment dating back to 2500 BC, Egypt. It is based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet and hands that relate to every organ, gland and part of the entire body. This comfortable manual therapy on the reflex points helps to assess the systems, loosen and "release blockages". Treatments promote good circulation, digestion, removal of toxins, release of tension and overall relaxation of the body, mind and spirit.
