Heather Locke, RMT, ATRI, has been practising massage therapy in British Columbia for 25 years. Her scope of practice includes deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, sports massage, infant massage, pre / postnatal massage, hydro therapy / pool therapy, and remedial exercise. Heather graduated from the D’Arcy Lane Institute in London, Ontario and has passed both the Ontario and British Columbia board exams. She has worked with clients of all ages with a wide variety of ailments. Her diverse experience includes working with many competitive athletes at professional sporting events, including: The Canadian Olympic Rowing team in preparation for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. The 1997 Skate Canada International Figure Skating Competition in Kitchener, Ontario. The Australian Olympic Council for whom she managed and organized fundraising events for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. The Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games in 2002. Heather was one of three Massage Therapists from Canada selected to work at as part of the International Massage Team. The Vancouver Marathon. The Penticton Ironman, where she worked with Lori Bowden after her gold medal race in 2002. The 2003 Canada Winter Games as the BC team massage therapist. The 2003 Canadian Women’s Open LPGA golf tournament. The 2003 Canadian Open Fast Pitch International Championship. The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games where she worked as part of the massage therapy medical team. Heather holds a valid Level “C” CPR Certificate, Standard First Aid Certificate and Level 2 Coaching Certificate. In addition, she is BCRPA certified, completed the Bronze Medallion lifesaving course, Hydro Therapy, and Sports Therapy. Prior to becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, Heather coached figure skating and instructed aerobics. She lives in Surrey, BC with her husband and three children and enjoys making fantastic cakes, photography, and playing with her kids.
Initial appointment includes assessment, treatment, home care, and education.
