Originally from Newfoundland, Kendy initially completed her Bachelor of Science in Recreation Therapy. During this time, she worked extensively with the cardiac and pulmonary rehab clinics where she developed a passion for exercise prescription and the rehabilitation process. She went on to complete a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. Kendy believes that rehabilitation is a complex entity which responds best in collaboration with other health care professionals. Her passion lives with helping individuals improve their quality of life, manage their pain, and regain independence. Kendy has taken continuing education courses including level 1 orthopaedic manual therapy and Kinetacore functional dry needling level 1 with plans to complete further orthopaedic and educational courses to stay current with treatment options. Kendy gained an appreciation for an active approach to recovery through posture correction, pain free movement patterns, and return to work and leisure activities. She often utilizes a versatile treatment approach including soft tissue release, cupping, and taping to help promote healing. Overall, this has led her to develop a balance of education, manual therapy, and exercise to reach individual goals so people can get back to what they love doing quickly!
