Sandy is a Registered Acupuncturist certified in Balance System Acupuncture through Level 9, a certified Tuina Therapist, a certified Master of Medical Qigong Therapy, and a Medical Qigong Doctor candidate. She also holds certificates in Mei Zen Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture and microneedling. She completed the Acupuncture Program at Vancouver Career College in Burnaby. She received her training and certification in Tuina therapy, fire cupping, moxibustion, and gua sha through the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, now known as the Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Sandy completed her Medical Qigong Therapy training with Wendy Lang through Empty Mountain Institute and the International Institute of Medical Qigong. She has also completed numerous light-body courses, as well as introductory and advanced training in channeling and mediumship. Sandy is an ordained Daoist Priest—82nd generation of the Highest Purity sect and 86th generation of the Celestial Masters sect—and a disciple of Dragon Heart Temple. Her approach to acupuncture is holistic and individualized. Depending on the condition and circumstances presented, treatment may follow Traditional Chinese Medicine Zang Fu theory or Dr. Tan’s Balance System Acupuncture channel theory. She may also incorporate Medical Qigong, fire cupping, Tuina, moxibustion, or gua sha into treatment when appropriate. Balance System Acupuncture uses channel relationships, mirror imaging, and microsystems of the scalp, limbs, hands, feet, face, and ears to select points away from the affected area. This allows Sandy to provide individualized treatments without necessarily needling directly into painful or sensitive areas. Sandy also offers Medical Qigong Energetic Therapy, a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses focused intention, breath, gentle movement, and external energy projection to clear energetic blockages, balance the internal organs, and support the body’s natural healing response. Treatment may incorporate external energy projection, energetic sound, colour, energetic needle techniques, and acupressure to clear blocked channels and support physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Medical Qigong Talk Therapy may also be incorporated and can include soul retrieval, generational trauma work, and past-life regression. Sandy may provide Traditional Chinese Medicine dietary therapy suggestions, Medical Qigong exercises, and meditations to support treatment. She also offers energy space clearing and compassionate energetic support for people receiving palliative or end-of-life care.
Initial Qigong This appointment includes a full intake and assessment followed by a customized Medical Qigong treatment based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and Dr. Tan–inspired balancing strategies. Treatment emphasizes system-wide regulation rather than working directly on symptomatic areas and may include external qi regulation and gentle hand placements. The service is non-invasive and performed fully clothed.
