Shannon is a skilled Registered Massage Therapist who graduated from the 3000-hour diploma program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy Victoria in 2010. With a diverse and extensive background, Shannon has gained experience in a variety of settings, including providing massage therapy at a backcountry ski lodge, traveling with a team for mountain bike races, and working in clinical environments. Over the years, she has treated a wide range of clients, from recreational to professional athletes of all ages and abilities, as well as pre- and post-natal clients and those experiencing temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD), among other conditions. Shannon’s approach to massage therapy is therapeutic and patient-centered, integrating a variety of techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and deep tissue massage, as well as emphasizing patient education. She is also committed to her own continued professional development and is a committed, lifelong learner in her career as a massage therapist. Growing up in the Rockies, Shannon has always led an active outdoor lifestyle, with a passion for snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking. This background gives her a deep understanding of the importance of maintaining physical health, as well as the desire to rehabilitate and return to one’s favorite activities after injury. Shannon also recognizes the importance of building strong therapeutic relationships, and believes that this leads to more effective treatments and better overall outcomes. Outside of the clinic, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family and continuing her adventures in the mountains whenever possible.
