A South Shore native, Cheryl (Nauss) Gilfoy grew up in Mahone Bay. Cheryl graduated from Dalhousie university with a BSc in Kinesiology in 2007, before continuing on to complete her MSc in Physiotherapy in 2009. After graduation, Cheryl moved to Ontario where she worked in private practice as well as long term care. In 2012, Cheryl returned to the South Shore and continued to work in private practice before becoming co-owner of South Shore Physiotherapy in 2014, where she continues to work full time. Cheryl has continued her education through various post graduate courses in manual therapy techniques including: Mulligan concept mobilizations with movement, Butler mobilizations of the nervous system and the Advanced Lumbo-Pelvic certification program, and has successfully completed her Level 3 certification towards achieving her Diploma in Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy. In 2019 she completed training to become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Cheryl has also completed training in vestibular rehabilitation and acupuncture/dry needling. Cheryl is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
