Pain is often a symptom—not the problem itself. Dr. David focuses on identifying the root cause of dysfunction, restoring healthy movement, and helping patients achieve lasting results—not just temporary relief. Dr. David Higginson has been helping patients move better, recover from injury, and live healthier lives for more than 20 years. He has owned and operated his own practice, worked as an associate chiropractor, and served as an Attending Physician at a chiropractic university, mentoring future chiropractors. His passion is helping people of all ages return to the activities they love through individualized, evidence-informed care. Dr. David has extensive experience treating sports injuries, motor vehicle collision injuries, headaches, neck and back pain, disc conditions, TMJ disorders, and extremity injuries. He also has a special interest in pediatric and pregnancy care, having spent more than a decade in a family-focused practice serving children, expectant mothers, and families. A Cum Laude graduate of Western States Chiropractic College, Dr. David utilizes a variety of treatment techniques tailored to each patient’s needs, including diversified and low-force spinal and extremity adjustments, sports chiropractic, instrument-assisted adjusting, soft tissue therapies, rehabilitation exercises, joint mobilization, therapeutic modalities, and pediatric and pregnancy care. Whether you’re recovering from a sports injury, healing after a car accident, managing chronic pain, or simply looking to improve your mobility and overall health, Dr. David provides compassionate, personalized care designed to help you get back to doing what you enjoy most. Originally from beautiful British Columbia, Dr. David moved to Portland in 2002 and now calls Lake Oswego home. Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find him coaching or cheering on his three teenage boys at Ultimate Frisbee or basketball, camping with his family, staying active, or taking his pug for a walk with his partner.
This initial assessment is a 60 minute visit to go through your medical history, assessment, develop your personal treatment plan and most times includes treatment (depending on the complexity of your case).
