Attain Physiotherapy & Sport Performance Centre
Andrew recently completed his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University, following a Bachelor of Human Kinetics and Recreation (Co-operative) from Memorial University in 2023. Growing up in the rural town of Baie Verte, Newfoundland, Andrew developed a love for athletics, participating in every sport offered by his local school. In his graduating year of high school, he was nominated for the SSNL 2A Athlete of the Year award. While he enjoyed a wide range of sports, Andrew primarily focused on ice hockey, playing AAA with the Central IcePak for four years. During his undergraduate studies, Andrew began resistance training and developed a strong interest in strength and conditioning. Through these experiences, Andrew became particularly interested in the application of strength and conditioning to rehabilitation and athletic development and strongly believes it is a cornerstone of physiotherapy. Prior to joining Attain, Andrew completed a physiotherapy placement at the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre, where he primarily worked with adolescent athletic populations. Through his experience working with patients recovering from ACL reconstruction, he developed a strong interest in ACL rehabilitation and return-to-sport programming. In this role, he designed and implemented individualized exercise programs to help patients with a wide range of injuries safely return to sport and meet the physical demands of their activities. Outside of the clinic, Andrew enjoys resistance training, playing hockey, listening to training and physiotherapy podcasts, and watching sports.
