Charlene is a registered physiotherapist who obtained her Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of British Columbia. Staying current with new treatment techniques she has received post-graduate training in manual/manipulative therapy, Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), Clinical STOTT pilates, and is certified with Acupuncture Canada. Recently, she has been certified in NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) which aims to assess and correct dysfunctional movement patterns that cause pain Charlene uses a variety of manual techniques including myofascial release, joint mobilization, manipulation, and IMS/dry needling to help restore tissue and joint health. Her treatment philosophy focuses on correcting alignment and muscle imbalances while using specific exercises to prevent pain from returning. Charlene’s clinical expertise extends from acute and complex neck and back pain, whiplash, sports injury and post-operative rehab. In the community, Charlene has worked with various running clubs on proper biomechanics, training modification and injury prevention. As a yoga practitioner of over 10 years she frequently helps fellow yogis practice pain-free. Working with the weekend warrior, couch potato or athlete, Charlene enjoys creating individualized programs to improve how the body feels and performs.
