Annika Van Niekerk
Bump Physio & Co
Hi there! My name’s Annika, and I’m a graduate of Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. I’m passionate about working with chronic pain conditions and helping clients improve their quality of life through individualized, thoughtful care. My own experience with chronic headaches inspired me to conduct a case study on this topic, which greatly informed my empathetic and creative approach to treatment. Fostering a safe and comfortable space is central to my practice and essential to finding solutions that truly work. I appreciate that every person’s experience with their body is unique, and pairing a foundation of trust and safety with evidence-based techniques ensures that my clients always feel empowered, heard, and supported. Additionally, I care deeply about making massage therapy feel accessible to everyone. During my time in school, I had the opportunity to provide treatment through nonprofit organizations for individuals with various neurodivergencies as well as developmental and physical disabilities. My treatment room is a space that truly celebrates differences, and I’m always happy to adapt our plan or the environment to ensure each treatment reflects and honours every individual’s needs. I’m also passionate about providing safe care for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse communities, and I consider it a privilege to be a trusted resource for individuals of all identities. Outside of the clinic, I love spending time with my dog, being in nature, and going to the movies. I’ve also worked with dogs for nearly a decade, so I would LOVE to hear about your pup! I’m honoured and humbled to be a part of my clients’ health journeys, and I can’t wait to meet you.
