Dr. Brittany Schmidt was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario, and grew up playing a variety of sports within her community, including competitive volleyball. Her athletic background is what inspired her interest in helping others to improve their functional ability and enhance overall quality of life, through movement. This passion led her to McMaster University, where she received her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree. During her time at McMaster she volunteered as a strength and conditioning coach for the varsity volleyball and soccer teams, where she focused on educating athletes on the importance of movement, injury prevention and rehabilitation. For multiple years, she volunteered her time supporting individuals with diverse musculoskeletal conditions, aiming to improve their overall mobility through personalized rehabilitation programs. These experiences led her to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where she completed her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. Her personal and academic experiences helped her develop a deeper understanding of the demands placed on the body and what proactive, functional healthcare can do for someone. Her experience has greatly shaped the way she cares for patients, allowing her to combine adaptability, empathy and evidence-based techniques that are tailored to each patient’s unique goals and needs. She integrates her clinical knowledge with a whole-person philosophy and focuses on performance optimization, sustainable wellness and helping people move more comfortably. From high level athletes to individuals dealing with everyday discomfort, her goal remains the same: to help people move well, feel better and live a high quality life! In her spare time, you can find Dr. Brittany exploring nature with her dog, trying a new recipe or in the gym!
