Nicholas Maio is a Certified Athletic Therapist who holds an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Applied Health Science from Sheridan College. His extensive experience in healthcare allows him to specialize in injury rehabilitation from all levels of activity, general population to high-performance athletes. Nicholas has worked along side many sporting organizations such as Humber College Varsity Athletics, League1 Ontario, the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL), and St. Michael’s College School. Nicholas has worked across a variety of sports, including soccer, volleyball, hockey, and basketball, supporting athletes of all levels, from youth players to professionals. His treatment philosophy is rooted in collaboration and empowerment, tailoring care to the specific needs of each individual. Whether working with athletes, professionals, or members of the general population, Nicholas strives to optimize recovery, prevent injuries, and enhance overall performance. Nicholas is a certified First Responder and an active member of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA), bringing both expertise and dedication to every aspect of his practice. What Happens During the Initial Assessment? Comprehensive Health History - Understanding your lifestyle, activity levels, and any relevant details helps us tailor your treatment plan. Physical Examination/ Range of Motion Assessment - A hands-on physical assessment will follow, including joint mobility tests, muscle strength evaluations, and palpation to assess areas of tenderness or tightness. This helps pinpoint the source of discomfort or dysfunction. Functional Testing Depending on your specific needs, we may perform functional tests to assess how well your body moves during common activities or sports-specific movements. This can include tests for flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination. Treatment and Exercise Prescription/Plan Included in Visit
