I work with clients to assist them toward greater strength and resiliency by translating the symptoms their bodies are presenting into opportunities for renewed health and wellness. Shiatsu massage uses a variety of techniques to soothe, relax, and restore the body’s natural equilibrium and ability to heal. Performed over clothing, I apply pressure to specific points and pathways on the body — much like acupuncture (but without needles) — to move qi, or life force. Pressure is always adjusted according to the needs and wants of the client. I love deconstructing more complex cases and looking for pathways forward that will most benefit the client in noticeable, measurable ways. Initially trained as a pianist from an early age, playing has taken me all over the world, performing on stages from Vienna to London, Helsinki to Minneapolis, and numerous places in between. On-stage, I was trained to investigate and clarify my own instincts, and be sensitive and responsive to what my fellow musicians needed from me at the keyboard. Offstage, I rely on that same skill set and sensitivity to treat my clients with compassion and care. I see the body as an extraordinary instrument.
