This is a form of gentle manipulation of the skin and soft tissues which encourages lymph drainage throughout the body. The lymphatic system relies on the movement of smooth muscles to transport fluid through the lymph; when this flow is interrupted, fluid backs up in the lymph which can cause swelling and other conditions to arise. This treatment reduces swelling and improves circulation throughout the lymph system so toxins/waste can be eliminated properly.
