Dru graduated from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in 2009 with specialty clinics in sports massage and spinal cord injury. During years of organized competition in track and field, cross country, hockey, tennis and karate, he always sought out RMT along with other therapies for injury rehab and relaxation as a part of his training. Every client is unique and has different needs, Dru uses a combination of fascial, Swedish, dynamic, stretching and joint mobilizations techniques for soft tissue injuries. He believes that RMT along with self care in the forms of stretching and strengthening can help gain greater ranges of motion, decrease pain, and educate clients. Has a background in coaching (martial arts) and has been able to help clients with proper warm ups, balance, power and strength training along with cardiovascular training while getting them acclimated to the gym environment and furthering their involvement in their own health care. As part of his ongoing education required by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, he has spent the majority of it as a mentor to Sutherland-Chan final term students as their case study. He’s responsible to give constructive feedback, share techniques and his professional experiences as an RMT. It also keeps him in touch with what is currently being taught to upcoming therapists. Outside of work he plays tennis all year round, is studying French, and sporadically knits to stay busy.
