Coming from an artistic background, I worked in the film industry in Vancouver for several years after moving from the windy prairies of southern Alberta in 2001. My decision to pursue Massage Therapy transpired from a vacation in Mexico, where I received treatments from a massage therapist who’s skill and quality of life inspired me to consider a career change. I graduated from the 3000 hour program at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2010. I’ve called Squamish my home for over 10 years now and it fills my cup daily with gratitude to be able to work and raise my kids in such a beautiful place. My personal practice of self care ebbs and flows with life. It is a journey after all. My ever present passion and curiosity for learning and creating keeps me yearning for more. This in itself is a big part of my own self care practice. Currently I’m exploring the fiber arts, miniatures, quilting, photography, yoga, SUP boarding, and nutrition. My approach to massage therapy is holistic, meaning that I view the body as multiple interconnected systems and strive to address not just physical symptoms, but also emotional and mental stressors. Whether you are seeking relief from chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or simply looking to relax and unwind, I am here to support you on your journey to wellness. With 15 years in practice, I have honed my manual skills to meet the unique needs of each client. My pressure tends to be on the deeper side based on client personal preference, however it’s completely dependant on the level and type of soft tissue (muscle, fascia, lymph) being addressed and where the pain scale is felt on a given day. Our bodies can feel differently from day to day, so it’s important to modify pressure and adapt techniques accordingly. Above all, I believe that the key to successful massage therapy is building a strong and trusting relationship with my clients. I take the time to listen to their concerns, assess their needs, and create a personalized treatment plan that addresses their goals. My ultimate goal is to empower my clients to take control of their health and wellbeing, and to provide them with the tools they need to live their best lives.
