Alex is a nationally board-certified (NCCAOM) and State of Michigan licensed acupuncturist. Considering the why’s of the world in his early teens, he discovered truth in the book the Tao of Pooh found in his grandparent’s library in rural Texas. He began receiving treatments in his early 20’s that served as a grounding force for his body and mind during the roller coaster of undergraduate life at The University of Michigan. After attaining a degree in film and entrepreneurship, Alex adventured through different industries including startups, arts, music, and education before landing in an acupuncture office as an assistant and marketing manager. Alex decided to start learning more about the medicine and soon realized it was based in the very philosophy he had fallen in love with in his grandparent’s library a decade earlier. The decision to pursue traditional Chinese medicine seemed fated and inevitable. Although Alex’s educational background to this point wasn’t based in medicine or the sciences, as a committed lifetime learner, he challenged himself to dive in, led by his belief in the Tao. He attended Pacific College of Health & Sciences in Chicago and graduated with a Masters in Acupuncture. He treated hundreds of patients through the school’s clinic and through an internship at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center under the guidance of Ryan Ruiz. His special interests include treating psycho-emotional, digestive and reproductive health as well as pain management and sports-related injuries. Alex utilizes a combination of modalities to maximize results in each session including needling, cupping, gua sha, dry needling, tui na (Chinese massage), E-stim and moxibustion. His empathetic and caring nature guides his treatment style. He is dedicated to improving the quality of life and bringing harmony into the life of every patient that walks through his door. Alex’s style as a practitioner is to: Listen deeply. Build balance. Optimize Wellness.

Consult and treatment

To provide the best level of care, first time patients are asked to come in for a detailed consultation where we discuss their current condition including duration, severity, previous medical interventions and prognosis. Time is taken to understand desired results and treatment goals. A custom treatment plan is built unique to each individual.
