85 Scarsdale Rd, Unit 302, Toronto, ON, M3B 2R2
Alana graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to this, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo in the co-operative education program, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Honours Kinesiology and a minor in Rehabilitation Sciences. Her passion for rehabilitation stems from her love for sports and growing up playing competitive soccer. Her experience working as a kinesiologist with runners and athletes and post-operative knees and shoulders, further shaped her active and functional approach to rehabilitation. Alana’s main mission is to help get her patients get moving and back to enjoying the activities they love. During her clinical internships, she worked with a wide variety of patients from older adults, to those with neurological conditions, to semi-professional athletes. She utilizes a patient-centered, biopsychosocial approach and collaborates with her patients to provide specific and individualized care. Treatments consist of education, manual therapy, soft tissue work, exercise, and life-style modification. Being a big believer in lifelong learning, Alana will be continuing her clinical education in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture/dry needling, Pelvic Floor/Women’s Health, Concussion rehab, and Manual Therapy. Alana continues to play recreational sports such as soccer, volleyball, and tennis, and likes to learn new sports whenever she gets the chance. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, exploring hiking trails with her dog, lifting at the gym, and trying different restaurants around Toronto.
