Hello, My name is Dan Auger and I would like to welcome you to Whole Wellness Therapies. I graduated from the Sarasota School of Massage in Sarasota, Fl. and began working as a licensed therapist in 2007. I became an LMT because of how much it helped me receiving massage in my previous career as a Cardiovascular Technologist. I worked for 20 years at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine in invasive cardiology. We used x-rays to visualize where we were working in the heart during procedures. To protect us from the x-rays we had to wear a lead apron for most of the day. The weight of the lead apron began to give me a lot of lower back discomfort. I wanted a more holistic approach to healing and began regular massage sessions which profoundly made a difference in my discomfort. I am a member of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP). I am a certified Essential Oil Coach and have completed level 1 Aromatherapy certification.
Massage
Aromatherapy and massage go hand in hand. This powerful combination uses certified therapeutic grade essential oils and plant based massage lotion. There will be eight to ten different essential oils used throughout your session which have been specifically chosen with your current needs.
Reflexology
Reflexology also known as zone therapy, is the practice involving the application of pressure to specific points on the feet. This is done using thumb, finger and hand massage techniques with minimal use lotion. It is based on systems of zone reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet, with the premise that such work on the feet causes physical change to the supposedly related areas of the body.
Lymphatic Drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage is a therapeutic treatment that uses very light pressure and gentle rhythmic strokes to increase the flow of lymph and to flush out harmful toxins. The lymph system is a key part of your body's immune system and it plays a vital role in helping fight infection.
