She provides tailored support for specific and complex health challenges, including shoulder and neck issues, whiplash, achilles and patellar tendon rupture, hip and knee replacements, pre and post surgical treatment for mastectomy, spinal fusion, C-section including surgical scar management, and post-concussion syndrome—to name a few. In most cases, she uses a combination of Swedish massage and myofascial release techniques, adjusting all the time to what feels right for the client. Katherine draws on years of experience and technical training to bring the body back. She has taken many continuing education courses, primarily in myofascial release and cranial sacral / visceral learning from Natale Rao and Heather Gittens. For her athletic clients, Katherine's background in competitive Olympic-style weightlifting lends itself to understanding the demands and joys of an active and/or high-performance lifestyle. Katherine is both owner and practitioner at Klinik in Vancouver, with a varied and loyal clientele to whom she is forever grateful. She is now growing a new client community at The Lab in Nelson. Katherine moved to Nelson in June 2023—a return to her roots. She was born in Trail, lived her earliest years in Montrose and Castlegar, and then spent the next 50 years growing up, working, and raising her kids around the province before returning to the Kootenays. In her time off, you will find Katherine on the rail trail with her husband and their two crazy Bernedoodles, volunteering at her daughter’s school, skiing at Whitewater, and training downstairs at The Lab.
