In practice for over 12 years, Dr. Erica Nikiforuk, ND brings with her a wealth of experience in naturopathic fertility care. Licensed as both a Naturopathic Doctor and Registered Acupuncturist, Dr. Erica has made it her mission to help couples feel more supported throughout their journey to conceive healthy babies. She has much experience treating a range of hormonal and reproductive concerns – including egg quality, PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid disorders, and male factor infertility. She has a particular interest in treating complex fertility conditions such as diminished ovarian reserve, recurrent miscarriage, implantation failure, thin lining, autoimmunity, and unexplained infertility. Dr. Erica supports patients at any stage in their fertility journey. Beginning in the preconception period, she works with both partners to lay the foundations for a healthy pregnancy. She identifies and addresses any nutritional deficiencies, inflammation or hormone imbalances; while working to optimizing egg and sperm quality. As well as supporting couples who are trying naturally, Dr. Erica provides evidence-based integrative care for individuals and couples undergoing IUI, IVF or egg freezing. Throughout pregnancy, Dr. Erica provides detailed nutritional guidance to address common concerns and ensure optimal development of the baby. Dr. Erica offers a patient-centered approach to care, beginning with a thorough review of your medical history and appropriate lab testing, in order to bring new understanding to complex cases. She provides an in-depth and unique treatment approach to each of her patients, including clinical nutrition, supplementation, herbal medicine, and lifestyle recommendations. She integrates traditional Chinese acupuncture treatments along with researched protocols in order to improve patient success. Dr. Erica believes the integration of epigenetic and lifestyle medicine is the future of fertility care, and she is committed to improving the health of future generations, one patient at a time. With an avid interest in research, Dr. Erica has published in several scientific and naturopathic medical journals. She is a member in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) and the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO).
