Victoria is a graduate of the Master of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy (La Trobe University) and Doctor of Physiotherapy (Bond University) programs in Australia. She has been awarded the designation of Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist through the Australian Physiotherapy College and is a recognized Registered International Sports Physiotherapist (RISPT). Previously, she completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario (now Western University). Victoria has always had a passion for sports and exercise, participating primarily in karate and musical theatre while growing up. Victoria competed and medalled nationally and internationally in Karate for more than 10 years before retiring to pursue her passion for physiotherapy. While studying and working overseas in Australia, she worked with athletes from many different sports, but worked predominantly with women athletes in Australian Rules Football (AFL). Acting as the senior physiotherapist for over 5 seasons continued to fuel her love of helping athletes get back to what they aspire to do. She also worked with the Queensland Karate Association on injury prevention for their elite level athletes. As part of her schooling, Victoria completed and published research in the area of concussion education and how risk averse athletes were to return to play parameters. Although she aspires to work with athletes at an elite level, Victoria loves to work with all levels of athletic ability. She loves helping her patients stay motivated to keep working through injuries and guiding them through their ongoing goals and achievements. Having regularly seen her own physiotherapy team while competing and training, she understands the benefits that treatment can give to keep you at your most optimal performance. Victoria uses a variety of treatment techniques from massage and acupuncture to strapping/taping and strength training. Victoria also has extra training in both mat and reformer-based Pilates. In her spare time, Victoria loves to stay as active as she can, whether it is walking her dog Bailey, sweating it out in a karate or hot yoga/pilates class, or dancing away on a bike that goes nowhere. She loves to spend quality time with her family and will spend her free time watching her favourite Canadian and Australian sports.
