Growing up in Nova Scotia, I discovered my passion for exercise through hockey. It was my first personal trainer who inspired me to pursue a career in kinesiology. After playing hockey for 13 years, my career came to an end in Junior A following multiple concussions in a single season. My own experience with concussion shaped my interest in rehabilitation and recovery. It also inspired my first academic research, which explored the factors that influence mental health during recovery from sport-related concussion. My approach to exercise is evidence-based and focused on helping you build a sustainable routine that addresses the root cause of your symptoms and supports a safe return to the activities that matter most to you. Over the past five years, I've developed individualized exercise programs for people recovering from acute injuries, managing chronic pain, rehabilitating from concussion, and looking for guidance with exercise programming. No matter where you're starting from, my goal is to help you move with greater confidence and build lasting habits that support your long-term health. Outside the clinic, you'll usually find me walking or running along Dallas Road, attempting to play the guitar (sorry, I'm not from that Rankin family!), or keeping in touch with family back home in Nova Scotia.
