Andrea Hird is a 2016 graduate of the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy. She originally got into massage therapy as she wanted to be able to provide and educate the public with a more holistic approach to rehabilitating and healing the body. She is excited for her career in massage therapy and looks forward to future continuing education programs to further her knowledge of the human body and alternate techniques. Growing up in Slocan British Columbia, Andrea has enjoyed the west kootenay’s and has had the opportunity to explore her beautiful home both on and off the beaten path. She enjoys being outdoors, whether it is on the water boating, fishing, swimming or hiking one of B.C.’s plentiful provincial parks. It was after moving to the Okanagan to attend college for 2 years that Andrea fell in love with the surrounding area and made the decision to pursue her bright future and career as a massage therapist here. She is excited for a fresh start, a new place to call home and to explore Kamloops BC, the surrounding area and all it has to offer. Curious as to what you can expect from a treatment with Andrea? She will begin by taking a thorough and complete health history along with interview and assessment related to the condition you present with. A treatment plan will be created and explained to you prior to the actual treatment itself. She employs a variety of treatment techniques to meet the unique needs of each of her patients to help them reach their goals. There will be time at the end of the treatment to instruct you with appropriate home-care which could include stretching, strengthening or other home-care remedies.
