Hello! I'm Jessica, and my goal during my time with clients is to bring you fully into your body to support your own unique process of healing, grounding, and growing. My specialty lies in integrating Swedish and deep tissue massage with CranioSacral Therapy to target acute and chronic pain and discomfort while settling the nervous system to support your body in finding balance. I would describe my work as settling, subtle, and mindful. I have a particular interest in working with parents and primary caregivers of small children and teens, individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, and insomnia, and those who suffer from chronic headaches. I have been a registered massage practitioner in Maryland (R01043) since 2006. I am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and have served on the board of the DC chapter. I have received continuing education in pre- and post-natal massage, pediatric massage, infant massage instruction, and active isolated stretching, and advanced training in Upledger's CranioSacral Therapy (including techniques for chronic depletion) and SomatoEmotional Release. I have experience teaching massage at both the professional and community level. In addition to massage, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Baby & Toddler Yoga Teacher, and teach yoga classes for children ages 6 weeks-12 years. Outside the massage room and yoga space, I enjoy knitting, gardening, cooking (bonus points for cooking foods I've grown in my garden), and playing outdoors with my daughter.
Swedish and deep tissue techniques are combined to create a client-centered massage that best suits your preferred level of pressure and goals for the session. Sessions can be focused on relaxation or to address specific areas of tension or injury.
