Dr. Felipe Martinez, MD, EdD, is a fourth-year doctoral student and clinical intern in the Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine (DAcCHM) program at Yo San University. He is currently completing advanced clinical training in Traditional Chinese Medicine while integrating his extensive background in Western medicine and education into a comprehensive approach to patient care. Dr. Martinez holds a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Doctor of Education from Pepperdine University. His doctoral studies at Yo San University represent the convergence of multiple healing traditions, combining his medical training with advanced study in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and classical Eastern diagnostic methods. This multidisciplinary foundation allows him to approach patient care with both clinical precision and a deep respect for the philosophical principles underlying Chinese medicine. His clinical interests include pain management, internal medicine, emotional and spiritual health, and the treatment of chronic and complex conditions. He is particularly drawn to cases where Western and Eastern medical perspectives can work in concert, offering patients a truly integrative model of care. His work is informed by an understanding of how physical symptoms often reflect deeper imbalances in the body's energetic systems, and how addressing these patterns can support lasting healing. Dr. Martinez approaches patient care with a holistic, patient-centered philosophy that honors the whole person. He emphasizes careful listening, individualized pattern differentiation, and treatment plans that may include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and practical lifestyle guidance. In addition to his work in medicine, Dr. Martinez is a theologian and bilingual poet who writes in both Spanish and English.
