Miriam is a California Board licensed acupuncturist and herbalist currently pursuing her doctoral degree (DAOM) with an emphasis on integrative internal medicine and longevity at Yo San University. She brings a unique perspective to her clinical work through her background in architecture. Miriam graduated from Yo San University’s Master’s program in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, receiving the Clinic Excellence Award. Miriam treats patients with a wide range of conditions including chronic fatigue, IBS/IBD, arthritis, weight management, musculoskeletal pain/injuries, insomnia, (peri)menopausal imbalances, and mental health. She is well-versed in chronic skin conditions having completed Dr. Mazin Al-Khafaji’s diploma course in dermatology. She incorporates Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Tui Na, and nutrition into her practice, creating a personalized treatment plan for each patient. When helpful, she may include lab testing as part of an integrative approach to gain deeper insight. She has a particular interest in working with patients with autoimmune disorders and those undergoing cancer treatment as well as post-cancer care. She is currently completing an externship at the Disney Cancer Center, focusing on integrated breast cancer care. Her approach is deeply patient-centered and her techniques gentle and effective. Miriam is dedicated to getting to the root of the issue to bring the body back into balance. She values the healing journey as one where patient and practitioner work together, and believes Chinese Medicine empowers patients in their own healing.
