Dean is a graduate from the Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) program at Langara College in 2022. He now teaches there part time in Clinical Practice. Throughout his time in the program, he attended outreaches during his internship, working with spinal cord injury patients, dancers, climbers, competitive rowers, and in long term care homes. In addition, he has encountered pre and post partum patients, various neurological cases, and other various complex cases. Prior to entering this program, he graduated from UBC with a Bachelor in Science with a Major in Applied Biology. He joined Legacies as a student back in 2022 and continued on as an RMT in 2023 where he is part of the BC Lions treatment team serving in his 3rd season this year. In his practice, he is able to use Myofascial, Trigger Point, Swedish techniques, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) [Used commonly for break myofascial adhesions in conditions like Plantar Fasciitis and Frozen Shoulder], and Athletic taping [Used commonly for Joint stability] to his practice. Dean particularly likes using point pressure in addition to a pin and stretch to help improve range of motion to return to regular function and reduce pain in the process. During your treatment, you can expect insight on what is going in the body to be effective short-term in the hopes to have positive long-term effects. In his spare time, Dean enjoys sneakers (a big sneakerhead), thrifting, and various outdoor activities such as running and hiking when the weather is nice here in rainy Vancouver. If the weather is raining, he can be found bouldering at one of the nearby climbing gyms! Dean also works out of our sister company, Legacies Health Centre, out of their North Vancouver location (1394 Main Street, North Vancouver) Book here
