Aja Terwilliger, DAOM, L.Ac. Dr. Aja Terwilliger is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist licensed in both California and Georgia. She is dedicated to helping patients reduce pain, restore balance and support whole-person healing through individualized, integrative care. Aja earned her doctoral training in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University in Los Angeles and completed her clinical internship at Venice Family Clinic in Santa Monica, where she specialized in pain management. Her treatment approach often incorporates trigger point acupuncture (commonly referred to as dry needling) for musculoskeletal conditions, along with traditional acupuncture, cupping and other therapeutic modalities. Before pursuing her training as an acupuncturist, Aja pursued study in Ayurvedic medicine at Southern California University of Health Sciences and became a certified yoga teacher. Her clinical experience also includes providing acupuncture in community and recovery-focused settings throughout West Los Angeles, where she facilitated both group and individual treatments for individuals navigating addiction recovery and mental health challenges. Aja has trained internationally in hospital-based Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2023, she completed a clinical internship at the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine in Hanoi, Vietnam, where she treated patients with a wide range of conditions including pain disorders, post-stroke recovery and gynecological concerns. She returned in 2025 to conduct doctoral research. Aja recently relocated from Los Angeles to Atlanta and works with a wide range of patients. She believes healing involves an integrated approach to the mind, body, and spirit, and her goal is to support each patient’s unique process of restoration and well-being. Outside the clinic, Aja enjoys painting and spending time with her dog, Kenny.
