I attended Brock University and earned a degree with an honors in BSc Kinesiology that consisted of an extensive curriculum in biomechanics, human growth, anatomy, neurology and sports injuries. During this time, I played for the rugby varsity team, contributed to mental health and student life clubs, endorsed physical activity and participated in a variety of intramural sports. I spent most of my time working with individuals who suffered from spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis and amputations providing personalized exercise programs that focused on their health and functional goals. After University I obtained a diploma in osteopathic manual practice from the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto. With an extensive background in kinesiology, athletic therapy and manual osteopathy, I am able to treat physical and physiological dysfunction or imbalances in the body. I use a holistic approach in my treatments and a variety of therapeutic techniques to assist in the body’s self-healing and maximize it’s own health and efficiency. Osteopathy requires the knowledge of anatomy, relation and function of each part of the human body, and is applied to correct the structures and imbalances. Treatments will improve mobility, reduce or remove pain while also easing restrictions and inflammation using, soft and effective techniques such as static joint play, muscle energy techniques (MET’s), soft tissue therapy, myofascial release, visceral manipulations, and craniosacral therapy. Osteopaths seek to get to the root cause of pain and dysfunction rather than to simply treat the symptoms!
