433 Finlayson St, Unit 1, Sicamous, BC, V0E 2V0

Megan has a keen sense of adventure, loves to be active and enjoys discovering new places. Growing up in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba she was involved in many sports from softball to rodeo. After sustaining an injury competing in high school rodeo, she became a physiotherapy patient and became intrigued about it as a profession. She started volunteering at the local physiotherapy clinic, which led to after school and summer jobs. From her experience in the clinic she could see it would be a rewarding career. Megan graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2009. Her career has taken her from Northern to Southern Alberta, working in the communities of Cold Lake, Two Hills, Canmore, Lake Louise, and Cochrane. Megan gained valuable experience working with individuals of all age groups with a variety of acute and chronic pain conditions, and benefited from working alongside many talented physiotherapists. Recently she and her husband were blessed to have the opportunity to live and work in the Land Down Under - sunny Queensland, Australia where they lived for almost three years. Megan was grateful to be a part of a wonderful team, work with many kind patients and continue her ongoing professional development. Megan received many word-of-mouth referrals from patients who were pleased with the results of their treatment, including GUNN IMS. During her time in Australia, she travelled to Bali, Indonesia to complete her 200 hour Yin Yang Yoga Therapy Certification with Mysan Sidbo. She was fortunate to teach Yin Yoga to a dedicated tribe of individuals in Queensland. Megan and her husband Jarid have a passion for travel and meeting new people. After returning to Canada in August 2017 to marry in Sicamous, they travelled abroad for six months. They had an unforgettable adventure from Mexico down to Costa Rica, riding motorbikes 7000 km through Vietnam and Cambodia. In May 2018, they were ready to take off their packs and decided to call one of their favourite places in the world home- beautiful Sicamous, BC! Megan is thrilled to be accomplishing a long time goal of opening a physiotherapy clinic of her own. She has been overwhelmed with the local support and is excited to be a part of the community and contribute her expertise in the health care field. Megan has continued her studies since graduating and enjoys combining her traditional training with holistic therapies. Her specializations include GUNN IMS, Dry Needling, Anatomical Acupuncture, Cupping Therapy, Pelvic Health, Functional Movement Screening as well as Yin Yoga Therapy. She takes pride in her work and enjoys the challenge of identifying the root cause of injuries and chronic pain conditions. She enjoys using her skills, as well as manual therapy and providing patients with their own “tool kit” to keep themselves feeling well. Her goal is to actively assist patients to resolve their pain, strengthen, and get back to doing what they are passionate about.
