Julia was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland where she completed her Bachelor of Human Kinetics and Recreation (co-op) degree at Memorial University. She grew up dancing from a young age where through injury and rehabilitation she developed her passion for human movement and helping others. During her time at Memorial she completed four clinical placements in various settings working as a Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant. Throughout this time she worked as a dance instructor and was employed in a touring dance company in St. John’s. Following her time at Memorial, she moved to the Mainland to complete her Master’s of Physiotherapy at McMaster University. Her education here allowed her to deepen her knowledge of cardiorespiratory, nervous, and musculoskeletal systems. She had four placements including an orthopaedic clinic, Parkinson’s rehabilitation, Cardiovascular surgery, and at our very own Total Health Physiotherapy. Julia is excited to continue her education in pelvic health and explore rehabilitation for dancers. She is looking forward to treating a variety of patients at Total Health and working alongside them as they return to the activities they love.
