Energize Health
Matt has always had a keen interest in physical function and athletics. Born and raised in Calgary, he was involved in elite level sports from a young age. These experiences helped develop Matt’s interest in the human body and how it functions and moves. Prior to becoming a massage therapist, Matt worked as a Primary Care Paramedic for several years. His experience helping people in this capacity gave him a greater appreciation of the complexity of the body and helped guide his career path to massage therapy. As a graduate of Mount Royal University’s massage therapy program, Matt employs an active approach in his practice. The combination of his athletic and healthcare backgrounds have allowed him to see and experience the benefits of movement-based, active treatment, first-hand. This active approach further enables Matt to help his clients reach their functional goals. Matt utilizes many techniques in his treatments such as myofascial work, trigger point release, cupping therapy, shockwave therapy, and different muscle energy techniques to address the needs of his clients. He approaches each client as an individual and is focused on finding the root cause of their ailments and concerns, and works with his clients to ensure they receive the best quality of care while working towards the achievement of their functional goals. When not tending to client needs in the clinic, you can probably find Matt tending the twine at an arena, on the golf course, or traveling around the globe.
