Dr. Bradford Recsky is a patient-centered chiropractor and a movement optimist. He believes that chiropractic care can help his patients feel better, move better, and live better. Dr. Recsky uses an evidence-based approach that starts with understanding the patient first, discovering the cause of their dysfunction second, and developing a plan of action to help them achieve their goals. Treatments with Dr. Recsky involve a variety of manual therapy techniques tailored to the patient’s goals. Manual therapy includes expert diversified chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy including massage, myofascial release therapy, and instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy, a variety of modalities can be also used including shock-wave therapy, ultrasound, heat, and cryotherapy, and finally biomechanical support with heel lifts and custom orthotics. Patients leave the clinic with ‘homework’ designed to support their progress: exercises are chosen to strengthen and support; advice is given on ergonomics and lifestyle modifications to prevent aggravation. Dr. Recsky was born and raised in Calgary, where he spent his childhood snowboarding and mountain biking with his family. After completing his high school education, he moved to Lethbridge to complete a double major in Sociology and Psychology. Following his undergraduate education, he practiced as a professional bike fitter. During his time as a fitter, he learned how to assess the biomechanics of an individual and adjust the fit of the bicycle for optimal performance and decreased pain. In 2016 he moved to Toronto to attend the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), where he graduated in June 2020. During his time at CMCC, he received a meticulous education in evidence-based medicine and diversified chiropractic adjustment techniques. During his last year at CMCC he spent six months treating at the Rexdale Community Health Centre alongside doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists. Dr. Recsky is a member of the Alberta College of Chiropractors, the Alberta Chiropractic Association, and the Canadian Chiropractic Association. You can find Dr. Recsky on his off days carving Nakiska on his alpine board, coaching the Calgary Roller Derby All-stars, cycling across the city, playing roller derby across the world, or playing with his two children and mini Australian shepherd Carl.
