Dr. Leah Helin was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. She graduated from Arizona State University, with a Bachelors of Biological Sciences, and a minor in Spanish; then went on to earn her Doctorate of Chiropractic from prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic West. While studying at Palmer, Dr. Helin participated in Sports Council and treated dedicated athletes at sporting events all over the bay area. It was during such events that she fine-tuned her skills to help athletes maximize performance, while minimizing injury. Dr. Helin prides herself taking a new movement centered approach in chiropractic care. Every treatment is customized specifically to the needs of the patient and how to keep them active. Her wide scope of skills include: extensive chiropractic training in Diversified, Gonstead, Cox Flexion-Distraction, Thompson Drop, Activator, Graston/FAKTR, Cupping, Sacral Occipital and Cranial Technique, as well as, extremity adjusting. In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. Helin is certified in the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Fascial Movement Taping (RockTape FMT) and Applied Kinesiology. Your initial appointment focuses on optimizing your body: full movement assessment, targeted soft tissue treatment (Cupping, Graston, manual therapy, etc.), chiropractic adjustment, with performance-based add-ons available.
