James began his career in the beauty business more than 20 years ago. His path in the industry first started off as an Esthetician doing skin care. Which he quickly transitioned into doing makeup and working for MAC Cosmetics. His makeup career took him from San Diego to Los Angeles and then to New York as a trainer for MAC. With dreams and opportunities filled, James transitioned back to San Diego where he continued to work in the makeup world. However, he knew he had something more to offer. Revisiting his passion as a healer, he enrolled at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine to study massage therapy. At PCOM he learned Chinese and Western massage modalities to which he utilizes his talent and knowledge to facilitate his healing in this manner. Jamess initial intent with his craft was emotional healing through massage. He quickly discovered his skill carried over to doing more musculoskeletal work. Which evolved his technique into an eclectic melding of acupressure, stretching, diverse massage strokes, and deep tissue. Which is why he considers his massages as more therapeutic. However, he has not lost sight of his desire to do emotional work via massage. Being an Esthetician, Makeup Artist, and Massage Therapist has made James a well-rounded practitioner of healing or, as he calls it, a Self-care Specialist. James is also a Reiki Master and is ever evolving and learning to become the healer he aspires to be.
