People have asked me what I want to be called: Am I a body worker, a therapist, a masseuse? The best answer I ever received to this was from a client. They initially asked me this same question on their first visit. I said massage therapist works for me. The individual debated with me a bit whether that would be an accurate description of what I did. Their preference was body worker as therapist implies a whole melody of other things. I personally wasn't too concerned and said that would work as well. They came and saw me several times during which they were treated for an auto accident injury. Sometimes clients like to chat about what is going on in their lives, which I am always okay with! About the 3rd or 4th visit this same individual said something like the following as they were leaving: "You truly are a therapist in ever sense of the word." So I am a massage therapist!
