Amanda Nguyen, ND, DAc, MSAc, LAc Dr. Amanda Nguyen is a Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist dedicated to patient- centered care by blending ancient healing practices with the science of modern medicine. She earned her B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. She later completed her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at Sonoran University of Health Sciences (formerly Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine) and her Doctorate in Acupuncture at Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture. Dr. Nguyen is certified as a Diplomate of Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Nguyen is passionate about supporting the body’s innate ability to heal and empowering individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes that promote long-term wellness. She believes in treating the root cause of disease rather than simply masking symptoms. Her areas of interest include women’s health, pain management, mental health, and stroke recovery. In addition to acupuncture, she is trained in gua sha, fire cupping, moxibustion, and tui na bodywork. A Virginia native, Dr. Nguyen is excited to return to the DMV area. Growing up, she aspired to become a doctor but felt concerned by the lack of emphasis on nutrition in conventional medical training. This led her to pursue naturopathic medicine, where she gained a comprehensive foundation in both conventional and alternative therapies to support patients’ mind, body and spirit. One modality that had a profound personal impact was acupuncture, which helped alleviate her eczema. In her free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with her loved ones, playing pickleball, and exploring nature.
