Jen graduated from the University of Toronto in 2021 as the class valedictorian and recipient of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Leadership Award of Excellence. Prior to this, she completed a bachelor’s degree in Honours Kinesiology at McMaster University. Since graduating, Jen has worked in both clinic and hospital settings in Toronto and Ottawa. She is experienced in treating a wide range of injuries, including those from sports, repetitive strain, motor vehicle accidents, and pre/post-surgical conditions. She derives immense fulfillment from getting to know each of her clients’ unique goals and working closely with them to develop personalized plans that address their specific needs. Jen uses a combination of exercise, soft tissue release, manual therapy, acupuncture, education, and collaborative goal setting and supportive coaching to help clients return to the activities that are important to them. With a strong commitment to ongoing learning, Jen has recently completed a Diploma in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy. She has also taken numerous courses in the areas of acupuncture, Mulligan Manual Therapy, movement analysis, management of neck and low back pain, arthritis, chronic pain, and client-centred communication techniques. Jen has a love for teaching and provides regular clinical education to physical therapy students across Ontario. She is currently an Adjunct Lecturer with U of T’s Physical Therapy program and previously taught components of the musculoskeletal curriculum at the university’s medical school. Outside of the clinic and classroom, she can be found hiking, playing pickleball, baking, or lifting weights at the gym.
Sometimes, you aren't able to make it into the clinic to see your therapist. The current environment, with self-isolation or quarantine during a time of sickness around COVID-19 is one example, but video appointments are used more and more in today's health care environment. E-consults are a way to cut down on travel, save time away from work, or to use if you don't have anyone to watch the people you are caregiving for yourself. We offer secure, one on one time with you to check on how your injury is progressing, to review and progress your exercises, lead you through a mobility or breathing session, or to consult on other exercise modalities you may want to try out.
