Deanna Pesun, MSc, B.Kin- AT, CAT(C) Deanna’s interest in the injury rehabilitation process blossomed during her time as a competitive dancer. Rounding out her educational journey, she proudly graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2020, having completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology with a specialization in Athletic Therapy. During her time in the program, she spent 2 years working with the Bison Women’s Ice Hockey team, the Bison Athletic Therapy Clinic, as well as numerous clinics around the city of Winnipeg. Deanna was also one of four students chosen to join the New York Rangers medical team for a one week internship during the winter of 2018. Demonstrating her knowledge and expertise, Deanna successfully challenged the Canadian Athletic Therapist Association’s National Certification Exam in January of 2021, earning her the status of Certified Athletic Therapist in the subsequent March. Continuing her pursuit of knowledge, Deanna embarked on a path of advanced education, culminating in the completion of her Master of Sports Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh in June 2023. Her academic endeavors included the composition of a master’s thesis focused on the Epidemiology of Injuries in Ice Hockey Athletes. With great excitement, Deanna looks forward to the opportunity of introducing the principles of athletic therapy to the Fit4Life community!
