Dr. Josh Stephenson BHK, DC graduated from Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C. with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics – Kinesiology degree in 2014. He spent the following two years travelling and working as a Kinesiologist before continuing his education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario, where he completed his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 2021. Dr. Stephenson is very excited to begin his professional practice at Proactive Chiropractic & Wellness Center. He is also preparing to begin serving as one of the department chiropractors for the Trinity Western University Athletics department where he will be treating a diverse group of varsity athletes. Dr. Stephenson will be primarily focusing on the men’s hockey team, as he is a proud TWU men’s hockey alumnus (2009-2014). Dr. Stephenson uses diversified spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) while also putting an emphasis on soft tissue therapies, including myofascial release technique (MRT), stretching, posture correction and exercise. He believes that it is important to treat the person as a whole, to find and correct the underlying cause of a problem, rather than treating individual symptoms. Outside of work, Dr. Stephenson enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife, Nikki, who is currently studying to become a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. Favourite activities and hobbies include hockey, snowboarding, hiking, camping, traveling, and playing guitar.
