Maria is a co-founder of Remedy and a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy . She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene Sciences from the University of British Columbia , where she worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist for over a decade before transitioning into massage therapy. Her therapeutic approach combines Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, and deep relaxation techniques. In addition, Maria has further expanded her expertise through advanced training in modalities such as hot stone massage and manual lymphatic drainage. Recently, Maria has developed a strong interest in Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) . She has completed Dr. Vodder MLD Levels 1, 2 & 3 and is now a Certified Applied MLD Therapist , focusing on supporting clients experiencing lymphedema or post-surgical edema . Outside the clinic, Maria enjoys staying active — she’s learning tennis and Brazilian jiu-jitsu , and loves spending time at the gym, going on hikes, and hanging out with her two dogs — Rome the Doberman and Popcorn the Chorkie . Maria is fluent in English and speaks conversational Tagalog.
