Mika Gerrits is a Registered Massage Therapist who adapts each treatment based on the individual, using an evidence-informed approach to care, grounded in assessment and clinical reasoning. Originally from Nova Scotia, she moved to British Columbia in 2023 to study massage therapy at OVCMT, graduating in July 2025. Mika also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology, with a Certificate in the Foundations of Health from Mount Allison University, which informs her understanding of the body, nervous system, and pain. A desire to support people in their wellness and to work in a hands-on, active profession led Mika to massage therapy. In practice, she works with a wide range of presentations and tailors treatments using a variety of techniques, including but not limited to myofascial work, Swedish massage, neuromuscular approaches, muscle energy techniques, trigger point therapy, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). She values clear communication and collaborative treatment planning, helping clients feel informed, supported, and confident in their care. Outside the clinic, Mika enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. Including camping, hiking, paddleboarding, skating, playing volleyball, and painting.
