Duncan truly enjoys working with people and understands the unique needs of every individual requires unique and thoughtful treatment planning. He believes in a collaborative and malleable approach to treatments where the client and he work together to realize their immediate and long-term goals. Duncan holds space for every client, in every visit, to tailor their experience to best fit their needs. A graduate of Vancouver College of Massage Therapy, Duncan was very fortunate to experience a variety of clinical and community outreach environments, treating office workers and athletes, the elderly and youth, and persons with developmental and neurological conditions. His approach seeks to find the right balance between therapeutic and relaxing massage in every massage. Integrating Swedish and deep tissue techniques, passive and facilitated stretching, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations and homecare recommendations to help ease pain and promote healing, strength and mobility. Duncan found his career in massage therapy quite naturally after experiencing its benefits in his own health care for many years. As a competitive highland dancer in his youth, as a construction worker and warehouseman during university and followed by a couple decades of desk work in IT, massage therapy has always been the key modality supporting his effort to keep his body healthy and to recover from injury. Outside the clinic, Duncan is a father of two university-age kiddos who enjoys gardening, baking and lapidary arts. When the weather is fine, you’ll find him camping, hiking, paddleboarding and occasionally trying not to fall off a surfboard.
