During an initial assessment at a chiropractic clinic in Ontario, the following steps typically take place: Patient Intake: Patients complete forms covering medical history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and any previous treatments or injuries. Consultation: The chiropractor reviews the intake forms and discusses the patient's health concerns, symptoms, and treatment goals. Physical Examination: This includes postural analysis, range of motion tests, and orthopedic and neurological tests to assess nerve function and muscle strength. The chiropractor may also palpate the spine and other relevant areas to identify tender spots and joint dysfunction. Diagnosis and Treatment Plan: Based on the assessment, the chiropractor provides a diagnosis and outlines a personalized treatment plan, which may include spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapies, exercises, stretches, and lifestyle recommendations. Initial Treatment: In many cases, the chiropractor begins treatment during the initial visit. Follow-up and Monitoring: Follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed. Throughout the assessment, the chiropractor ensures the patient understands their condition and the proposed treatment plan, encouraging questions and active participation in their care.
