I have been a pediatric physiotherapist specializing in neurodevelopmental disorders for nearly 10 years. During this time, I found that there is nothing more professionally rewarding than seeing the quality of life improve for kids with gross motor challenges. I use evidence-based treatment methods in a fun, play-based environment while working towards the goals set up collaboratively with the family and other clinicians. My journey as a physiotherapist started in South Africa at the University of Pretoria, where I graduated in the early 2000s. During my time working in remote villages, I discovered my love for pediatric physiotherapy. I migrated to Canada, with my husband, in 2005 and have since continued to expand my extensive working knowledge of not only neurology, but also musculoskeletal and orthopedics through my work in hospital and private clinic settings. I continue to also work part-time at an independent school as a physiotherapist, servicing children with needs ranging from cerebral palsy, heart defects, developmental delay, ASD and various syndromes including Fragile X, Angelman, arthrogryposis, and Down syndrome. On the personal side, I am a mom of four beautiful kids. Together with my husband, we enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities – whether it is winter or summer. I also love horses, I have been riding horses since I was six and enjoy jumping recreationally or going for a long trail ride by the river. It was my love for horses and kids that drew me to incorporate horses in my treatment methodology – known as hippotherapy. I am an American Hippotherapy Association member and have completed Level 1 of their Hippotherapy certification.

CLINIC - Initial Assessment

This initial assessment is designed to understand your child’s movement, strength, coordination, and functional skills in a supportive and child-centred environment. Our pediatric physiotherapists take time to get to know your child and your family, using play-based and developmentally appropriate activities to assess gross motor skills, posture, balance, mobility, and overall physical development. We focus on your child’s strengths while identifying areas where support may be helpful. Following the assessment, you will receive clear feedback, practical recommendations, and a collaborative plan that supports your child’s goals at home, school, and in daily life.
