Dr Kottoor is the owner and clinic director of Leaside Sports Medicine. He is a Chiropractor, Rehabilitation Specialist, Medical Acupuncture Provider, Certified Active Release Techniques Provider, and Certified Personal Trainer. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto in Kinesiology and graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2002 with his Doctor of Chiropractic. Dr. Kottoor then completed a 3 year post-doctoral fellowship in Rehabilitation Sciences to help him become a leader in the field of sports and injury rehabilitation. He has worked extensively with people of all ages and all walks of life. Being a former international volleyball player, Dr. Kottoor has a special interest in exercise and sports injuries. He has treated numerous professional and Olympic athletes and has worked with the Toronto Raptors Medical Team for several years at their pre-season camps doing injury and fitness assessments. He has been a team therapist for the University of Toronto Varsity soccer team and a medical team member/director for several marathon and triathlon events, the Ontario Mountain Biking Series, swim clubs, and semi-professional volleyball teams Dr. Kottoor has worked as the team chiropractor for the Canadian Beach Volleyball Championships and the World Road Cycling Championships in Hamilton. A number of athletes from the NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS and NFL seek the care of Dr Kottoor. Dr. Kottoor also lectures to various health care practitioners and has presented at many health related conferences. Dr. Kottoor has also conducted a lecture series in association with the Canadian Personal Trainer’s Network teaching personal trainers across the country about injury rehabilitation, assessment and prevention in the exercising population. He also lectures frequently on the issue of proper running shoes and orthotics. He is also a medical expert for several magazines and has published a book chapter on the topic of injury rehabilitation, assessment, and prevention. Dr. Kottoor is a member in good standing of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, Ontario Chiropractic Association, College of Chiropractors of Ontario, American College Rehabilitation Board and the Canadian College of Rehabilitation Specialists. Dr. Kottoor works with a close network of medical doctors, orthopedic surgeons, massage therapists, nutritionists, and physiotherapists. Many of them are his patients.
