Richard is a Registered Massage Therapist and graduate of the Vancouver School of Massage Therapy. As a lifting and gym enthusiast, Richard has always been amazed at the body’s ability to compensate, adapt, and heal in the face of dysfunction, illness, injury, and stress. He brings a level of understanding, compassion, and empathy to his practice that can only be attributed to his many personal experiences with acute and chronic injuries. His intuitive treatment style incorporates deep tissue work, myofascial techniques, joint mobilizations, trigger point release, therapist-assisted stretching, and traditional Swedish massage; all in an effort to facilitate change in pain-affected patients. With years of involvement in sports, fitness, and healthcare, Richard is experienced in treating a wide variety of conditions including muscular dysfunction, postural imbalances, neuralgias, and chronic pain syndromes. When answering patients’ questions, Richard’s love of anatomy and human sciences is undeniable. He believes that the more his patients understand their condition, the more hopeful and motivated they’ll be for their recovery.
