Yumi graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy on the Dean’s List in 2021. Patient-centred care is the guiding principle of her practice and she strives to work collaboratively with her patients to support their needs. With a deep understanding of how pain and injury can impact daily life, Yumi creates a compassionate, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard and respected. Her approach is built on empathy and trust, aiming to empower each individual on their journey to physical and mental well-being. After graduation, Yumi developed a keen interest in working with patients experiencing low back pain, sports injuries, chronic stress, and those wanting to rebuild their strength to return to their activities. She has taken seminars on managing chronic pain, low back pain, and has completed courses such as Soft Tissue Release (Level 1) to keep her manual skills relevant. Her treatments are strong, involving various techniques from the relaxing Swedish to the more dynamic stretching style to deliver effective, restorative treatments. She is also a firm believer in patient education and enjoys providing tailored home care exercises to support progress between sessions. Yumi’s path into massage therapy began with her own fitness and chronic pain journey. After completing her Bachelor of Arts in Health Science and working as a personal trainer, she discovered a passion for hands-on care and helping others move and feel better. Outside of the clinic, Yumi finds inspiration in nature; mountaineering, rock climbing, and hiking the local mountains fuel both her personal growth and her connection to the outdoors.
