Somphed graduated from the 3,000 hour program at CDI South Surrey in 2017. She has always been interested in working in a career where she could help others. She believes that change starts with knowledge and encouraging a healthy lifestyle which empowers a client to make their own decisions and create change in aiding them through their healing process. During the massage therapy program she had the opportunity to attend the cadaver course which furthered her interest in anatomy, being able to learn from unique vessels which were donated to science gave her an appreciation for anatomical variations of the human body. In her practice, Sompheds treatment styles include swedish massage techniques, myofascial release, trigger point release, joint mobilizations, breathing exercises and muscle energy techniques. She always works within the patients tolerance and is intent with her pressure and modalities, she is focused on tailoring the proper treatment and goals for each patient. Somphed would like to expand her knowledge in relation to fascial stretch therapy and visceral manipulation and plans to further her education by taking the Bachelors of Health Science program at Thompson River University. On weekends, she enjoys cooking new recipes in the kitchen, reading, going for hikes with friends to enjoy nature, or breaking a sweat at the gym.
